Heritage woodcarving in Konjic

Some crafts are dying, but some are being nurtured for centuries. One of the most prominent crafts in the country is woodcarving, that has been UNESCO protected heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The story evolves around small city in the northern part of Herzegovina, called Konjic (a small horse).

You will definitely hear the story about the name of the city, and other valuable things that should not be missed, but you will get a deeper connection to the city through the visit to the woodcarving museum. At this spot locals are producing, generation after the generation, same fine and quality wooden products, such as traditional furniture and more modern pieces that can be purchased online throughout the world.

We will go and visit the Old Bridge located in the center of the city, connecting banks of Neretva, an emerald green river that seems like it’s coming down from the mountains surrounding the city. Here you’ll have your cup of Bosnian coffee for energy boost and best memories.
